COVID-19/Pandemic

In the event that New Zealand goes into a lockdown due to COVID-19 or a pandemic event, we will issue a refund of any monies paid, minus a $20.00 administration fee.

What do I need to bring?

All houses are fully furnished and include all bedding (sheets, pillowcases, towels, bathmat, face cloths, tea towels and a dishcloth). The beds will be made up prior to your arrival.
There is a small selection of tea, coffee, sugar, soap and toilet paper to cover your first night’s stay. As the Villas are not serviced, this is not replenished during your stay.
The Villa will provide most things you would expect in a normal holiday home. If you feel you may need something in particular please bring it with you, like your favourite pillow or blanket.
As we live in an Alpine Village, you may wish to bring insect repellent with you.
Pool towels are NOT provided. You may choose to bring pool towels from home, or they can be hired at the Thermal Pools complex.

Check-In

Any time after 3pm.

Check-Out

Check-out time is no later than 10:00am - this allows us time for the property to be cleaned and prepared for incoming guests.

How do I check-in to the Villa?

When planning your trip please take note that we have a self-check-in procedure. An email regarding yourself check-in details will be emailed 1-3 days prior to your arrival. Your keys will be in a lockbox at the property. Please refer to the details in the email, as we are not onsite hosts and therefore will not be there to check you in.
Each Villa has a Compendium where guests will find tv instructions, heating instruction, Wi-Fi details, rubbish instructions and some recommendations for some restaurants and activities in Hanmer Springs.

Where do I leave the keys on departure?

Please make sure all doors are locked on departure and you have left the keys in the lockbox at the property.

Do I have to clean on departure?

Cleaning is included in your nightly rate. However, any additional cleaning due to spillages/staining or anything out of the ordinary will incur additional cleaning charges.
We do require you to leave the Villa tidy on your departure.

Can I add additional people to my booking?

Please enquire with Hanmer Lodge Lake Villas prior to your stay. Additional charges may apply for extra guests.

Can we erect a tent or hook up a caravan/campervan to power at the Villa?

Unfortunately not, sorry.

Minimum Stay Period

A minimum stay of two nights does apply at all times. Public Holidays and long weekends may have a longer minimum stay required. Please enquire if necessary.

Is firewood provided?

Yes it is.

Can I bring my pet?

Unfortunately not, none of the Lake Villas allow pets.

Is smoking allowed in the Villa?

All Villas are smoke and vape free.

What happens if it snows and roads are closed?

Each snow event brings different circumstances and its unusual for state highways to be closed for long periods of time especially the southern routes to Hanmer Springs. We keep a close eye on the AA website and have up to the hour information on road conditions, however if the road is closed for a long period of time we can either re book you for another time or refund you.
